Before opening the chemical preparation package, look at the label and check whether it has a graphic warning sign (pictogram) on it. A substance or mixture classified as hazardous in the packaging must be labeled with, among others hazard pictogram (Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EC) on the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures, called the CLP Regulation. In the European Union, it implements the rules for the classification, labeling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures contained in the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) Regulation No. 1272/2008 is called the CLP Regulation – Classification, Labeling and Packing. The purpose of the regulations is to ensure the protection of persons who may be exposed to these products and environmental protection. Carpet cleaning
The CLP pictogram has the shape of a square set on top, a red border and black drawings on a white background. Is a summary of the threat.
If you use a product labeled with the CLP pictogram, read the detailed description of the hazards that a specific substance or chemical mixture can cause, i.e. the Material
Safety Data Sheet.
Read the entire label carefully. Also when you use chemistry labeled with the organic certificate. Any substance or chemical compound can be hazardous to health or life if used improperly.
Read how to unscrew, dispense and store. For example, some packages are unscrewed by squeezing the edge or pressing the cap; shaking or shaking is not recommended before use; dispenses traditionally or by pointing the nozzle downwards; uses and stores only in an upright position; stores only at temperatures above 4 ° C; away from heat sources etc.
Protect your eyes. First pour water into a bucket, then chemistry to avoid splashing chemistry under the influence of a strong stream of water. In addition, some concentrates are strong acids, so remember chemist young, always pour acid into the water. When the water and acid combine, the solution generates a very high temperature and there is a strong exothermic reaction, the water immediately begins to boil and splash in all directions. If water is poured into acid, hot acid will drip. The result can be burns, wounds in the skin, even loss of vision. If acid is poured into water – the liquid will be a splashing liquid and will not cause any harm. In case of contact with eyes, remove contact lenses, rinse eyes under running water with eyelids open for at least 15 minutes. If you are still baking, tearing or sore, see a doctor.
Protect the skin. Wear gloves and protective clothing for cleaning. Gloves protect you primarily from the effects of water, chemistry, biological and mechanical factors. If you use weak cleaning products, you can use non-certified gloves designed for housework. However, if you work with aggressive chemistry, there is a threat of microorganisms, mechanical damage, temperatures above 50 degrees C, use gloves with CE certification: Category III, which meet the requirements of the European Directive on personal protective equipment 89/686 / EEC, e.g. brand Sempervelvet. In case of skin contact, especially concentrate, wet clothing, take off contaminated clothing, wash the skin with plenty of water. Change gloves to dry if the cleaning solution is poured inside. After finishing work, wash the gloves inside and out by turning them over. Leave to dry. Thanks to this treatment, you protect your skin not only against chemistry, but also against germs and check if they are tight. End of tenancy cleaning London
Do not breathe vapors. Dilute the chemistry in cold or lukewarm water (unless the manufacturer’s recommendation is different) so as not to inhale substances that evaporate faster than water, such as chlorine, terpenes, alcohol, which is contaminated in cleaning preparations. Take special care with products marked with CLP pictograms. Ensure air circulation in the room where you perform cleaning procedures.
Do not breathe aerosol. Spray the chemistry onto a cloth. If there is a need to apply chemistry directly on the surface to be cleaned, apply it with your hand outstretched (away from the face), below the face and not perpendicular to the surface to protect the face, especially the eyes and not to inhale particles of the substance. Do not spray preparations classified as hazardous to health without a filtering half mask with a carbon insert.
So plan the order of actions to stay as short as possible in the room where you use cleaning chemicals, especially dangerous preparations that pose a health risk. If you start coughing, sneezing, you will have a feeling of scratching in the throat, your eyes will burn or tear, take care of the supply of fresh air.
When using chemistry, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash your hands before each break and after finishing work, despite working in protective gloves.
If a chemical preparation is swallowed, immediately contact / seek medical attention and provide the name of the preparation. Check the first aid rules in the product safety data sheet.
Keep chemistry away from food, drink and food, locked up, away from children and animals
Ensure the safety of users of the cleaned rooms. Before using hazardous products, according to CLP that pose a threat to health, remove people, animals, plants from the room.
Do not mix preparations. If you want to use a different cleaning chemistry, wash first, rinse with the preparation previously used (neutralization). Take special care when using preparations containing chlorine compounds, e.g. sodium hypochlorite (Domestos) with preparations containing acid, ammonia, because as a result of their mutual reaction, toxic chlorine may be released.
Keep chemical preparations in the original packaging. If it is necessary to use a replacement packaging, rinse it thoroughly, cross its label, write the name of the new product, its dosage, redraw the pictogram of a hazardous substance.
Make only the washing solution you use. Aqueous solutions of some substances / mixtures retain their cleaning or disinfecting effectiveness only for a short time.
Do not apply concentrates directly to cleaned surfaces, unless the manufacturer explicitly allows, because you can permanently damage some finishing materials. Take special care with acids, bases and specialized solvents – Deep Cleaning prices
Rinse the used chemical bottle before throwing it into the yellow plastic container. Use the rinses for cleaning.
Used cleaning solutions, pour into drains. Do not pour them on the ground or rain wells, because you pollute the environment – soil and groundwater. Such an act is punishable by a fine (fine) and even a penalty of restriction of liberty.
